Families in Partnership FAMILY GROUP DECISION MAKING Facilitators coordinate conferences between family members, identified family support people, and professionals to plan for the permanency of children when issues of abuse or neglect are of concern. HOLIDAY GIVING PROJECT The Holiday Giving Project serves nearly 250 Tobacco Valley youth every year. Donors contribute by “adopting” a child or family for the holidays, purchasing coats, hats, gloves, boots or other clothing, or through financial contributions. HOME VISITOR PROGRAM Services are designed to preserve families and prevent child abuse and/or neglect. Parent education, skill building, referrals and advocacy are provided through this program. MENTORSHIP Mentorship is a project that recruits, screens, trains, matches and supports adult volunteers in working with youth. Mentors both assist youth in school and in the community. THE PARENT PLACE The Parent Place provides prevention services and support for families in the Tobacco Valley. The Parent Place strives to bring families the resources they need to provide safe and healthy environments for their children to thrive in. Activities include Parent Education Classes; Support Group Sessions; Family Activities; Play Groups; resource/referral sources; one-on-one coaching and distribution of clothing. The Parent Place also coordinates the Holiday Giving Project. SUPERVISED VISITATION Trained staff members supervise visits between birth parents and their children when children are in foster care. Goals are to provide family contact with continuity and safety in mind. TOYS FOR TOTS Working closely with the Holiday Giving Project, Toys for Tots serves more than 100 children a year. Donations of new or nearly-new toys can be dropped off year-round at Families in Partnership. For more information on any of these services, please call 406-297-3435. |
