Mental Health Center

The Sunburst Foundation provides licensed Mental Health Services in
Kalispell and Polson, which include a range of services to support children,
adults and families with their mental health needs. Among the services
provided are conducting psychiatric assessments, out patient therapy,
managing medications and case management.

The Sunburst Mental Health Center provides an initial assessment of an
individual in order to gauge the nature of a person's challenges. This may
include a chemical dependency screening as well as a medication
assessment. Based on the information gathered, the staff and individual
will jointly develop a "treatment plan" detailing the type and extent of
on-going services. These are likely to include therapy, medication
management, community rehabilitation and support services and case
management. Many of these services will occur off-site as well as at the
Mental Health Center.

The guiding philosophy at Sunburst Mental Health is to provide effective
and efficient services to people with mental health concerns in a
respectful, participatory manner. The mental health recovery model
Sunburst Mental Health utilizes believes that persons seeking assistance
are: 1) the experts about their particular issues and needs; 2) have the
right and responsibility to define their own recovery; and 3) are partners
with Sunburst Mental Health in working toward goals that they set for
themselves.
